Sheela is a trained architect with two and a half decades of experience in the area of craft, design, and sustainable practices in areas ranging from craft revival, textiles, handcrafted design spaces, architecture, and eco sustainable hospitality. She has developed an in-depth knowledge flow of artisanal communities across India and the world; has helped incubate many 360-degree design solutions, building ecosystems for self-reliance, innovation, and growth within the communities of art, craft and tourism pan India. She helped build Jilling Terraces – a boutique eco-hotel – amidst 100-acres of lush forests, tucked in the South Gola mountain range in Uttaranchal. She is the founder of 3 companies Chestnut Heights Resorts, Direct Create and Vistaap Infra Projects. She is also an advisor and has been a panelist on Smart Cities Art Cities organized by FICCI and a jury member for sustainable community-led enterprises and ecosystems.
