Nikita Dinger is a Ph.D. in cancer biology working to develop novel breast cancer therapies using carbon materials. She was selected to work with 2 Nobel laureates in 2 separate pitches based on her ideas and contribution to the field. Her work with Jean-Marie Lehn, France (Nobel Prize Chemistry 1987) was focused on developing self-reorganizing materials which can be used in material science and also for therapeutic applications such as self-healing patches. With Ada Yonath, Israel (Nobel Prize Chemistry 2009), she worked on understanding the origin of life in the prebiotic world and also to decode the structure of pathogenic ribosomes to develop novel and specific antibiotics. She also worked in Italy under Francesca Santoro who won the top 35 innovators award from MIT in 2017 to develop specialized nanomaterials which can tune the behavior of brain cells and also use Artificial Intelligence to predict the behavior of neurons with nanomaterials. Nikita was also offered the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship for her Ph.D. which she turned down to work in Naples on cancer biology. With this background of advanced technology, she has accumulated plenty of innovative ideas and now wants to explore them in her homeland, India. BioMeBar is one such idea marking the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey which will be used to apply cutting-edge research in India and act as a platform for innovative biotechnology and healthcare products.
