I was the first CMO of ZebPay and helped relaunch in India in 2020 under new leadership. I also oversaw HR. After the Supreme Court ended India's "crypto winter", our trading volume increased some 30X and our workforce quadrupled. I hired and trained a completely new marketing team and supervised the hiring and culture-building as we added over 150 people to our workforce in under a year, entirely remotely.I then moved to a role we call Chief Ohana Officer. Ohana is the Hawaiian word for family and it defines our culture. Basically, it means treat your employees, customers, even competitors as part of one extended family--not as a CSR aspiration, but as a core part of the business model. The job encompasses aspects of operations, culture, and happiness. Among our initiatives are instituting menstrual and mental health leaves and opening our quarterly board meetings to all employees, to further the goal of radical transparency.In August 2021 I was also named to the board of directors with a specific mandate to represent the interests of employees as equal stakeholders with investors. This role allows me to research and develop new services and businesses within the parent group, as well as cultivate workplace happiness and performance culture. I'm sort of a floating coach. I appear regularly in the media and on panels and podcasts.My first career was teaching writing, communication and nonviolent conflict resolution at the U of Florida. I approach my current roles with a teacher's mindset. I've also been a futures, options and now crypto trader for 20+ years. I would love to meet people working to disrupt and improve capitalism as we know it, people working on beautiful tech, experts on workplace culture, and anyone with a sense of humor. I would especially like to meet women leaders.
